Welcome
to Gail Warnaar's
The Old Homestead and Double Reed Shop
A real New England Bed and Breakfast in the Mountains of theNortheast
Vermont is open for business. Northeastern Vermont was not affected by the floods of Irene!
The Old Homestead and The Double
Reed Shop share the same roof. Gail Warnaar, Innkeeper and
musician, will juggle both hats to serve your needs and comforts.
Now in retirement, sort of, Gail enjoys sharing her music
and a century worth of family treasures and antiques which fill this lovely, big
home with friends and soon to become friends, worldwide.
Gail invites you to come enjoy the summer
gardens for your special event, experience the
pallet of fall colors and festivals which make Vermont everyone's vacation destination. Relax by the fire in a winter wonderland, or, if you're adventurous,
revel in the spring mud season and see life bursting forth before your eyes. Ski, hike, cycle, swim, picnic, experience history or spirituality, revel in the arts, see a film, or 'day trip' around the area to see why we call this our 'Special Kingdom'!
If you are a musician, especially an oboe or bassoon player, consider
a get-away visit, a Chamber Music Party, or a Rehearsal Retreat for your ensemble, with access to 7,000 print music titles from which to read and choose your next season's concerts. Gail is also available to coach or give a lesson, or help with reed making if this appeals to your musical need.
Check out the Local Events and Attractions Page for Special Musical and Arts Events in the area. Enjoy an Arts Patron Special Rate when you book for two nights or more at the Inn. Always enjoy a three course gourmet breakfast, a tastefully appointed room, comfortable common areas, reasonable rates, and knowledgeable guidance for your 'day tripping' and local cuisines. A variety of activities will fit your style and await your visit, so plan to unpack your bags and stay awhile to completely experience Northeast Vermont.
